JD AAA ASA CFE
For over 42 years…
James Corcoran has provided professional appraisals of fine art, antiques, archives, guns, books, and other high value personal property to private collectors, corporations & professional firms, & museums.
Mr. Corcoran has been an accredited member of the American Society of Appraisers, Appraisers Association of America, & the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is also an emeritus member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
As an independent professional (unlike dealers, galleries & auction houses - many of whom offer appraisals, but all of whom have serious conflicts of interest) his appraisals are diligently rendered.
Mr. Corcoran’s appraisals are prepared in compliance with USPAP, and with the ethics rules of AAA, ASA and CFE. Uncertified/non-accredited appraisals generally fail to comply with these rules & certification requirements.
The IRS requires that charitable donation appraisals be prepared by an IRS Qualified Appraiser - a further certification Mr. Cocoran holds for his clients.
